The Failure Files: Celebrating Failure through Iterative Design

As anyone's who's used a 3D printer or created code knows, innovation and building are all about failing - and learning from it. In this 45-minute podcast, hosts Evan and Hannah discuss how cultivating a culture of failing forward can set your students up for success - and how 3D printers and programming activities are the perfect tools to help with that! They'll explore the benefits of the iterative design process in preparing students for success beyond the classroom.

Design Days: Multi-Part Pendants

Join us for a hands-on “design-with-me” webinar in Tinkercad! Hannah Daniels will guide students step by step through designing a two-part pendant such as the classic BFF heart necklaces. Students will get to choose a base shape, add letters, and then split it in two so that each half joins together. They'll cap it off with holes to allow turning the two parts into pendants or backpack tags.

Design Days: Pot o' Gold

Join us for a hands-on “design-with-me” webinar in Tinkercad! Hannah Daniels will guide students step by step to create a St. Patrick's pot o' gold assembly, designed to print in two parts and nest together so that each component can be printed in the correct color!
We recommend logging in and projecting the webinar at the front of class (or on a separate monitor) while each student is on their own device. Students should be logged in to Tinkercad and ready to jump right in. We recommend they have a 3-button mouse or a touch-screen device for easiest navigation. No prior Tinkercad experience necessary.

Delightful Data - Part 2: Hands-On Data That Students Actually Care About

Concluding our two-part series on delightful data, we shift the lens to students and explore how to make data collection and analysis engaging, hands-on, and meaningful. We’ll share instructional strategies that help students move beyond worksheets and into real-world data experiences—using tools like Labdisc sensors and 3D-printed manipulatives. You’ll hear ideas for helping students ask better questions, visualize their data, and actually enjoy analyzing what they collect.
This episode is all about transforming data from something abstract into something tangible, curiosity-driven, and fun—while building critical thinking and data literacy skills along the way.
