Boxlight Named a Finalist in Technology Association of Georgia’s 6th Annual STEM Education Awards Program

 

Lawrenceville, GA — October 18, 2017 — Boxlight, a global leader in digital teaching technologies, has been named a finalist in the sixth annual Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-ED) STEM Education awards program. The company is a contender in the Corporate Outreach category following the successful Boxlight STEM Day initiative it launched in 2016 and due it recently becoming the convening agency for the Georgia Girls STEM Collaborative formed under the auspices of the National Girls Collaborative Project.
The TAG and TAG-ED awards were created to recognize and celebrate schools, extracurricular programs, public-private partnerships, science agencies and post-secondary education outreach programs for outstanding efforts and achievement in supporting and promoting science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in Georgia.

The Boxlight STEM Day involved collaborating with a number of low-income elementary and high schools in the United States and Latin America. The event included orchestrating a hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiment. Prior to the event, each of the participating schools received a free wireless Boxlight Labdisc portable STEM lab The students used the tools to perform simultaneous experiments and share their respective resulting data in an activity called “A Walk Through the City.” In all, more than 4,500 students participated by the event.
Joining Boxlight as finalists in the Corporate Outreach category include Georgia Transmission Corporation, Cisco and Legoland Discovery Center Atlanta.
Winners will be announced during a special, half-day event on November 3rd at the Loudermilk Center in Atlanta.
