South Carolina School District Converts To Boxlight Interactive Teaching Technologies

Decision to Add 1,750 Interactive Flat Panels Based on Boxlight’s Affordability, Ease of Use, and Simple Integration of Existing Lessons

Lawrenceville, GA — October 23, 2018 — As part of its respective initiative to transform current classrooms into powerful, technology-rich learning environments, South Carolina leaders in Beaufort County School District have announced plans to partner with Boxlight Corporation (Nasdaq: BOXL) (“Boxlight”) in outfitting hundreds of classrooms with the latest interactive education technologies. Howard Technology Solutions, a highly regarded reseller, will spearhead the installations.

The decision by the district to replace existing interactive technologies with Boxlight’s interactive solutions followed a rigorous, formal evaluations where as many as 16 vendors were evaluated. The selection committee based its decisions on Boxlight’s tremendous value coupled with its ability to foster next generation teaching and learning spaces that not only support engaging whole-class and small-group instruction but also are designed to drive improved student academic outcomes.

All told, Beaufort County is purchasing 1,750 ProColor 752U interactive flat panels that include MimioStudio for the creation and delivery of engaging lessons. The new 75-inch, ultra-high definition (UHD) ProColor flat panel displays provide 4K-clarity so that onscreen content is easier to see, even in large classrooms. The displays’ Touch 360° interactivity also features up to 20 single-touch points or 10 dual-touch for gestures — users can work simultaneously, driving collaborative learning.

Additionally, they appreciated the ease with which the award-winning MimioStudio™ classroom software opens third party content created in programs such as ActivInspire, SMART Notebook, PDF, IWB and PowerPoint – all without the need of a time-consuming conversion process. “Boxlight’s software imported Promethean’s ActivInspire files better than their competitors’ did. That was crucial because our investment in existing lesson content is extremely important,” said Mark Chauhan, technology services officer, Beaufort County School District.

In the end, the selection committee felt confident they were teaming up with more than just a technology provider and reseller, but rather partners who are equally committed to truly helping transform teaching and learning opportunities in each district.
