Choosing Your Labdisc:
Classic Bluetooth or BLE?

The Labdisc all-in-one science lab puts up to 15 sensors in the palm of your students' hands — no wires, no setup time, just science. As of July 1, Labdisc is available in two models, and choosing the right one comes down to a single question:
What devices do your students use?
On the outside, the two models are identical. Both deliver the same portable, hands-on science lab experience. The difference is the Bluetooth technology inside.
Classic Bluetooth Labdisc
Our original model connects reliably with iPads and Windows or Mac computers using the GlobiLab desktop software or iPad app. If that describes your classroom, there's good news: we've dramatically reduced the price on Classic Bluetooth Labdiscs to make room for our newest models. That means the same complete science lab, at a fraction of the cost — a smart way to stretch your budget further. Quantities are limited, so if this model fits your setup, now is the time to order.
One thing to know: Classic Bluetooth Labdiscs don't connect to Chromebooks or Android devices, and they can't use the new GlobiLab X web app.
BLE Labdisc
Our newest model features Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a modern chip designed to connect seamlessly with today's classroom technology. The BLE Labdisc works with Chromebooks, Android devices, iPads, PCs, and Macs — and it unlocks the full GlobiLab X web app right in the browser at globilab.com, with nothing to install.
If your students work on Chromebooks, or you simply want the most flexible, future-ready option, BLE is the Labdisc for you.
Quick Decision Guide
  • Windows, Mac, or iPad classroom? The Classic Bluetooth Labdisc delivers outstanding value while supplies last.
  • Chromebooks, Android, or want the web app? Choose the BLE Labdisc — you'll be glad you did.

Now with Coding: Meet GlobiLab X
If you haven't explored GlobiLab X yet, your students are in for something special. It works with both Labdisc models, runs on multiple platforms, and brings everything you love about the original GlobiLab software into a fresh, modern interface — plus one big new feature: coding.
With GlobiLab X, students can use their Labdisc to drive code outputs on their computer through an intuitive, drag-and-drop Blockly interface. Real sensor data meets computational thinking — temperature readings triggering on-screen actions, light levels driving a program's logic. It's a powerful way to connect science and coding in one lesson. And it's free to try today.
